Brandon Perea, JoJo Siwa, Aubrey Plaza, D’Arcy Carden, Charli D’Amelio and Xolo Maridueña Swing for the Fences in New Series; Celebrity Sluggers Debuts July 21 on YouTube, MLB.TV and Facebook

Two days after Major League Baseball’s best and brightest shined at the Midsummer Classic in Los Angeles, MLB Originals will introduce a new gamified talk show where celebrities try to take on the hardest skill in sports – hitting a baseball.

MLB Originals presents Celebrity Sluggers, a new series that combines getting to know celebrity guests through fun and entertaining interviews with the challenge of hitting fastballs of increasing speed. Produced in partnership with Team Whistle’s MAGNET, Celebrity Sluggers will be hosted by Hannah Stocking, a popular Internet personality, model, and actress with more than 50 million followers across her personal social media accounts.

“We are always looking to connect with our fans beyond the game on the field and that means developing entertaining programming with unique content that is baseball-adjacent,” said Scott Weisenthal, Senior Vice President of Creative and Content Marketing at MLB. “Celebrity Sluggers features some of today’s bright young stars and we’re excited to connect baseball and culture through this new series.”

“MAGNET exists to help our partners create original content conceived for and tailored to audiences across social channels,” said Danielle Johnsen Karr, Head of MAGNET at Team Whistle. “We were thrilled to work with MLB to create a series that delivers authentic content and brings new excited audiences”

Celebrity Sluggers will debut Thursday, July 21st on MLB’s YouTube channel, MLB.TV and Facebook. The new series will consist of six original episodes released throughout the summer.
