WHISTLE PREMIERES DUNK LEAGUE SEASON THREE COMBINING ATHLETICISM, HIGH STAKES AND RELATABLE CHARACTERS ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

New Host Rachel DeMita Joins MouthPiece And The Top Dunkers For Massive $50,000 Dunk Contest

NEW YORK – (September 23, 2021) –Team Whistle, the global sports media and entertainment company today announced its biggest social-first, sports reality competition ‘Dunk League,’ will return for a third season on Monday, September 27 on Whistle’s YouTube page and across their other social platforms leading into a long form marathon of all three seasons on their linear channel, Whistle TV, this Thanksgiving. The reality competition series showcases the next generation of dunkers that have spent years honing their craft in an effort to combine athleticism, style and creativity to bring the most famous play in basketball, the dunk, to new heights. Dunk League to date has had 129M cross-platform views.

The series sees nine players from varying backgrounds and locations across the country as they compete through a series of dunk challenges and competitions. Each episode will see the winning competitor receive a $5,000 prize, with the series culminating in the naming of a Dunk Master who will receive a $50,000 grand prize. Rachel DeMita, American TV personality and Former NBA2KTV Host will join MouthPiece, the longstanding dunk commissioner who handles the play-by-play for the season to mix it up by conducting off the cuff interviews, offer competition overviews and updates on scoring and standings for the dunkers and those watching from home. The format begins with the “Down From Day One '' competition, where dunkers will have 90 seconds to throw down their best freestyle dunks.

“The dunks I saw on set were absolutely incredible; and the level of creativity and athleticism displayed exceeded all my expectations,” said Rachel DeMita. “I’m so excited and grateful to be hosting Dunk League this season. The guys welcomed me into the dunk family, and I witnessed firsthand the hard work and dedication it takes to perfect these dunks. It is truly an art form, and I’m so happy to see the series showcase it as such.”

The series will include judges including pro dunker, Chris Staples, Special FX, Elevator and Nate Robinson, former NBA Dunk Contest winner.
